Fulfilled in my Work - from UCB

Thank you Father that You made us in your image.
Whatever our work involves, we reflect Your work of creating, sustaining and restoring.
Thank you that we find fulfilment in using the skills and creativity you gave us.
As we think about the working week ahead, please show us what you want us to focus on

Blessing at Work

Lord I pray for my employer, my employees and my work colleagues.

May the goods and services we produce enrich the lives of others.
May the money we earn be used well in caring for our families and those in the wider community who need our help.
May we work hard and rest well

Faith for my Work - from UCB

Too many of our workplaces are characterised by negativity, cynicism, gossip or fear.
Father forgive us and help us to have faith that we can be agents of change, infecting the atmosphere with encouragement, joy, life and love.

Is there something that you can do today to make positive change in your workplace?

Bible verses: Galatians 1:3-5

Grace and peace to you from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ, who gave himself for our sins to rescue us from the present evil age, according to the will of our God and Father, to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.

Today's Thought

First the good news…

I was very struck reading through Galatians how this whole letter is structured rather like an appraisal with a promising member of staff (although rather more bluntly put than in currently acceptable HR terms!)….with a tendency to make dreadful blunders, some of which we’ll come on to.

Throughout, Paul makes encouraging statements, “suggestions for improvement” (let’s be kind), and gives examples from his own experience, rather like a coach would.

And as you would for a nervous team member, he starts with the good stuff. However bad things are, by definition the Great Appraiser is not ready to give up on us. There is always grace and peace.

Prayer for today

Heavenly Father,

On this Monday morning as I face a busy new week at work, help me remember there is always grace and peace.

Care for Creation should be part of every Christians work and lifestyle
